Mutu Batak

From the highlands of Lintongnihuta in Sumatra, this wet-hulled coffee captures everything distinctive about the region while rising well above expectations. Grown between 1,000 and 1,400 meters above sea level by smallholder farmers, it opens with the comforting warmth of banana bread and butterscotch, followed by gentle tobacco and a syrupy, lingering finish. Familiar in character yet unexpectedly refined, it’s a reminder of how vibrant and expressive Sumatran coffee can be when handled with care.
