Humeka
Humeka is another offering from Laetitia and Gaston Rutaganda at Rwamatamu Coffee, the same producers behind Kibaya. Grown in Nyamasheke, Rwanda at 1,900 MASL and composed entirely of Red Bourbon, this anaerobic natural showcases a deeper, more fruit-saturated side of Rwandan coffee while still holding onto the balance and structure that define Rwamatamu’s approach.
Notes of raspberry, concord grape, and cherry pie bring a rich, jammy sweetness to the cup, while a wine-like character adds depth and intensity throughout. Underneath the fruit, chocolate graham cracker rounds everything out with a soft, familiar warmth that keeps the coffee grounded and approachable.
Humeka feels expressive and layered without becoming overpowering, a coffee that rewards slow drinking as new flavors continue to emerge in the cup.
